FAQ for patients using the Low-Carb Practitioner Directory

Low-Carb Practitioners (LCP) Directory is provided as a public service for those who have chosen to live a lower-carbohydrate lifestyle. We do not recommend or refer to individual practitioners.

This directory contains the names, addresses, website, email address and other means of contact of LCP members who have voluntarily chosen to list their services here.

Definition of a Low-Carb Practitioner

Directory listings are restricted to those who have a recognised medical qualification such as (but not limited to) medical physicians, medical doctors, registered nurses, registered dieticians, registered nutritionists, registered pharmacists, Listings are currently restricted to practitioners who are regulated by a registered regulating body. For example, registered dieticians, and registered nutritionists but not those who call themselves a nutritionist without being a member of a regulating registered body. This is to distinguish between those who call themselves a nutritionist but who do not have a recognised qualification.

Listings are not currently available to those without any recognised medical training. Or those who do not belong to a regulating body.

We do not recommend or refer to individual practitioners. We cannot guarantee their availability for a consultation. Due to individual demand, you may find some LCP are not accepting new patients at any given time so you may need to try more than one name listed. Some LCP may offer consultations online so you may wish to widen your search beyond your local area.

We urge you to ask specific questions regarding training and experience in the field of low-carb nutrition before seeking care from a low-carb practitioner. Please remember that the final decision on selecting an LCP is yours alone and we cannot take any responsibility for the actions, omissions or performance of these members in the handling of your care.

LCP directory or any of its contents may not be downloaded, republished, resold or duplicated, in whole or in part, for commercial or any other purposes including compiling mailing lists or any other physician list. The use of LCP directory is a public service worldwide to help website users find a practitioner who is low-carbohydrate friendly and uses low-carbohydrate nutrition to address a wide variety of health conditions.

The LCP directory listings are correct at the time of posting. It is up to the individual practitioner to ensure the information contained in their listing is accurate. We do not accept responsibility for any incorrect details. All corrections and/or changes must be submitted in writing to us at support@lowcarbpractitioners.com We will update and correct the directory listing as soon as practicable and according to the information that has been supplied to us at the time. Each LCP is responsible for submitting accurate information

How can I submit a listing in LCP directory?

To submit your listing on the LCP directory, please use the form here.

How can I update and correct my listing in LCP directory?

It is your responsibility to keep all records, contact details and specialities up to date by emailing us. If it has been reported to us that your listing is out of date or incorrect, then we reserve the right to delete your listing without notice.

Definition of a Low-Carb Practitioner

You need to be a registered practitioner AND currently use low-carb nutrition in your practice.

Listings are currently restricted to practitioners who are regulated by a registered regulating body. For example, registered dieticians, and registered nutritionists but not those who call themselves a nutritionist without being a member of a regulating registered body. This is to distinguish between those who call themselves a nutritionist but who do not have a recognised qualification.

Why aren’t nutritionists allowed to create a listing?

Currently, the use of the term “Nutritionist” is undefined. Many people online call themselves a “nutritionist” after completing a non-recognised course, self-directed study, or simply have an area of interest which they believe allows them to call themselves a “nutritionist”. The listings found here in LCP directory, are currently restricted to those nutritionists who have a recognised qualification and are regulated by a national body in their country.
