Dr Gary Fettke is an Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. He has a major interest in the preventative medicine and encourages his patients to lose weight before undergoing surgery.
Although his speciality is surgery, Gary believes it is much better to help people avoid surgery if at all possible by taking preventative measures, which often involve altering the diet.
In recent years Gary has focused on the role of diet in the development of diabetes, obesity and cancer. He has been speaking out on the combined role of sugar, fructose, refined carbohydrates and polyunsaturated oils linking together to be behind inflammation and modern disease.
He has incurred the wrath of regulatory bodies for his stand on public health, but he and his wife, Belinda, remain active defending the benefits of low carb healthy fat living. Their ongoing work has uncovered the vested interests and ideologies shaping nutritional guidelines at an international level.

I am a registered UK family doctor (qualified 1986) who worked as a safeguarding children’s doctor for several years as well as a family GP. My website www.fatismyfriend.co.uk helps people and their families change their lifestyles, particularly if they have diabetes, or are at risk of developing it.
I use low carbohydrate, ketogenic, intermittent fasting and time-restricted ways of eating and living. I do not use low-calorie diets, and I advise against low-fat eating because of the risk of missing out on valuable fat-soluble vitamins, and essential fats. I run a low carb WhatsApp group and low carb zoom group. I have followed a low carbohydrate diet myself since 2014.
In my role as a safeguarding GP, I saw the irony of thwarting all sorts of child abuse, but accepting and turning a blind eye to the harm caused by unnecessary sugary drinks and foods. For that reason, I encourage whole families and communities to change their lifestyles and not just the individual with obesity or diabetes. Not everyone gets overweight, but a diet that is not nutritious enough, and one that contains toxins harms us all eventually, one way or another.

Victoria grew up in Sydney, studied at Newcastle and spent 15 years working as a GP in Asia where she stumbled about the Atkins trend in the late 90’s and suddenly everything made sense.
Since then she has worked 10 years in Western Australia before returning to Sydney. She has actively practiced low carb herself for years and over the last few years has found it a useful tool in almost every consultation.
I am a Radiologist with a strong interest in low carb healthy eating. I have been reading and researching for years. I would urge everyone to eat low carb.
Dr. Samantha K. Eagle founder and Medical Director of Biologic Healthcare, earned her BS in Sociology and Women’s Studies at the University of Vermont and later pursued post-baccalaureate pre-medical studies at SUNY Stony Brook.
She received her Naturopathic Medical Doctorate and Masters in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She has been involved in patient advocacy within the healthcare system for over a decade and recognizes the need for patients to have treatment options and access to information.
Dr. Eagle’s experience with teaching undergraduate biology inspired her interest in patient education. She periodically lectures about Lifestyle and Functional Medicine to a national audience of her peers or practitioners interested in incorporating a more patient-centered model.
Dr. Eagle’s specialties include digestive disorders, nutritional counseling, rheumatic conditions, weight normalization, Type 1 and 2 diabetes and FirstLine Therapy® Lifestyle Program. Earning the trust of her patients has always been a priority.
Kia ora! I graduated from Auckland Medical School in 2005. Initially I was training in Paediatrics, however after the birth of my second child, I was morbidly obese and PreDiabetic. I changed to GP. I soon discovered Professor Grant Schofield and his team, and it changed my life. I have been living LCHF since 2015 and I am no longer PreDiabetic. I have also had my 3rd child since and enjoyed a healthy pregnancy, she is now 2years old and continues to thrive.
I have used my experience and knowledge to help my patients achieve health and wellbeing through better food choices, especially excluding sugar from their diet and being more aware of the hidden sugars in food. The second and significant part is reintroducing natural fats into their diet. I continue to be amazed by the results and love watching my patients not just reverse their Type 2 Diabetes, but also thrive!
My mother is Maori and my father is Niuean. Type 2 Diabetes, obesity, heart disease and cancer have taken a significant toll on my Whanau. My wish is that my tamariki will grow up and never experience these diseases. I believe LCHF holds the key to preventing the development of these and other significant diseases.
